How Students & Alumni Can Benefit From Meteor
Meteor is a powerful, real-time financial aid tracking system available to your students through multiple access provider sites, including the LoanLocator® option on the Clearinghouse's free Student Self-ServiceSM. The combination of LoanLocator and Meteor offers an aggregated view of a student's financial aid history. LoanLocator tracks the student's federally held debt, Perkins Loans, and more. Meteor provides detailed information on a student's outstanding FFELP and private loans.
Through Meteor, your students can:
- Easily identify their lender, servicer, and/or guarantor
- Look up loan amounts and repayment details in real time
- Be aware of their total obligations with comprehensible loan summaries
- Know exactly when their repayment due dates are and where to send their payments
In addition to accessing their loan information, your students can use Student Self-Service to perform a wide range of enrollment verification activities via the Web for free, including printing enrollment certificates, viewing their student loan deferments, and more.

Your school is eligible to receive free Student Self-Service, including the Meteor option, if you participate in our free Core enrollment reporting, DegreeVerifySM, and EnrollmentVerifySM services. If you already participate in the Clearinghouse's free Student Self-Service, you can sign up for the Meteor option. You can also opt to host a free copy of the Meteor software on your Web site.*
