Meteor is a service of the National Student Clearinghouse

How Students & Alumni Can Benefit From Meteor

Meteor is a powerful, real-time financial aid tracking system available to your students through multiple access provider sites, including the LoanLocator® option on the Clearinghouse's free Student Self-ServiceSM. The combination of LoanLocator and Meteor offers an aggregated view of a student's financial aid history. LoanLocator tracks the student's federally held debt, Perkins Loans, and more. Meteor provides detailed information on a student's outstanding FFELP and private loans.

Through Meteor, your students can:

  • Easily identify their lender, servicer, and/or guarantor
  • Look up loan amounts and repayment details in real time
  • Be aware of their total obligations with comprehensible loan summaries
  • Know exactly when their repayment due dates are and where to send their payments

In addition to accessing their loan information, your students can use Student Self-Service to perform a wide range of enrollment verification activities via the Web for free, including printing enrollment certificates, viewing their student loan deferments, and more.
